It's time to stop short-changing women

2013 | BPW Geelong | EPD Event

BPW Geelong members and guests gathered for a luncheon on 4 September 2013 at the Royal Geelong Yacht Club. We were fortunate enough to have Liz Blake sharing her journey of reinvention, leaving us all inspired.  Some key messages which came across from Liz were to know your value, do the work required to become the person you need to be, put aside your inner voice of self-doubt and criticism and let your inner voice become your advocate, both clear and authentic.

Liz also emphasised displaying the behaviour of assertiveness. Assertiveness is not aggression; it is knowing how you feel, without justification.

To implement what Liz spoke about, Liz left us with three suggestions (or challenges):

  • 1.     Empty your too hard basket.
  • 2.     Express gratitude for who you are and what you have.
  • 3.     Back yourself and take action in what you believe in.

And finally, a stand-out an inspirational quote from Liz “I know how to get what I want, when I know what I want”.
